Where are you right now?

I want to sell in the next year

You are ready, or close to it. You need the business priced right, packaged well and put in front of serious buyers without the whole town finding out.

How selling with us works

I might sell in 1 to 3 years or more

The best exits are planned. Owner dependence, messy books and customer concentration all cost you money at the closing table. Most of it can be fixed if you start early.

I just want to know what it is worth

No commitment, no listing pressure. You get a confidential value range built from your earnings and real comparable sales, plus the math behind it.

How valuation works

Why owners call a broker instead of going it alone

Selling a business is not like selling a house. Your employees, customers and competitors cannot know it is for sale. Buyers need to be screened before they see anything. The financials have to be recast so a buyer and their lender can see what the business really earns. And while all of that happens, you still have a company to run.

That is the job: protect the business while it is on the market, get it in front of buyers who can actually close, and keep the deal together through due diligence, financing and closing. You can read exactly how on our How We Protect You page.

How it works

  1. Free confidential valuation. We look at your earnings, industry and the market, and give you a realistic range.
  2. Prepare and package. Recast financials, a confidential information memorandum and a plan for anything that will scare a buyer.
  3. Market to qualified buyers. Blind listings that do not name you. Every buyer signs an NDA and is screened before learning who you are.
  4. Negotiate and close. Offers, terms, due diligence, financing and closing, coordinated with your attorney and CPA.

Most main street sales take time. According to the IBBA and M&A Source Market Pulse survey for Q2 2026, main street deals averaged six to 10 months from engagement to close (source). Nobody honest can promise you a date, but preparation shortens the road.

What it costs

Brokerage is success based. Fees are typically 5-10% of the sale price and depend on the size and price of the business. You will know the exact terms in writing before you sign anything. The valuation is free.
